Phase Change Memory animation
These animations were created by computer simulation to show the properties of phase change memory materials. The IEDM file zooms through microscopic images of the device to a simulation of how the material is switched between its amorphous and crystalline states. In the "Mushroom" animation, a dashboard view shows the progress of a number of key parameters as the material switches. In particular, notice in the lower-left frame the suddeness of the phase transformation.
